What is The Overshare?

The Overshare is a newsletter for introspective thinkers. Every other Friday at 7am EST, I send essays to your inbox in an attempt to clarify my own perspective on the world, process experiences, and connect with readers (you). Feel free to reach out to me directly or comment on essays; this is a space for all of us.

Topics include love, identity, home, eating disorder recovery, running, and the impossible expectations of how one is supposed to “do their 20s right.” If you’re new, here are a few favorites to start with:

25. The business of making meaning

19. Future perfect

22. The Comeback

20. Driftmania

Who’s your oversharer?

I’m a 28-year old writer based in Berkeley, California. I grew up in Indiana, went to school on the east coast, then settled in the Boston area where I spent four years before moving to the west coast to begin a two-year program in journalism at UC Berkeley.

Don’t have long hair anymore.

When you subscribe, you’ll receive an email from me every two weeks, but my entire archive of essays is available online here. If you’re enjoying what you read here on Substack, you can view my whole portfolio of work at kateraphael.co.

Fortnightly essays remain free for all subscribers, but additional writing is available only for paid subscribers (such as the Notes from the Road series). If you get some value from my work, and if you’d like additional access to more writing and exclusive content, consider becoming a paid subscriber. It helps keep this labor of love sustainable.
